65 suited vs. LAG, my line

Hi All,

Playing 6 handed. LAG in MP limped, folded to me in the SB. I had 65s (clubs). I completed and the BB checked.

Flop came ragged with 962 rainbow (included 9 of clubs).

On the flop LAG bet, I called, and the BB folded

Turn was 10c. LAG bet, I raised, he called.

Anyone like the raise here?

River was a 6, he checked, I bet, he called. He had A2o.

Thoughts, or all right?

I would have lead the flop.

I would have either raised the flop or called again on the turn. The flop raise would help get HU, which happened anyway, and set up a possible free card if you wanted. Call, call is also an option with the BB out of the way letting the LAG keep on with his bluff. Also, he might 3 bet here and with a good draw and possible best hand I like taking the card off for 1 bet.

I pretty much invariably CR any flop I'm going to play when I'm defending my blind. What rationale is there to lead the flop instead?

EDIT: Mea culpa, I didn't notice this was multi-way. When I say I pretty mcuh always CR, I meant headsup blind defense.

I prefer raising the flop to make sure it gets heads up and set me for a cheapish showdown.

We don't need the results. I am also confused with the action. Arn't you first to act in the small blind? How is he checking before you act?
