Screen res question
I bought a flat screen monitor to add on to my dell 8600 laptop. When I play, my max screen resolution is 1280 x 800. I still have overlap on my extra monitor.
Do I need a new chip or something to get to 1600 x 1200? Will this make the tables smaller, so I can fit more on one screen? |
Re: Screen res question
Both your video card and monitor have to each support the resolution you want. Most video cards these days can provide > 1280 but it's not automatic that most monitors can. Check your monitor specs and if it can't be run at > 1280 there's nothing you can do about it (I'm talking about CRTs - don't know about other technologies).
It's also possible that with a tiny laptop screen your video can't provide > 1280 because they figure the screen's too small to begin with. Yes, the higher the resolution the smaller items on the screen are. Mike |
