Counting outs test
 
Something to ponder. Won't take you long but you should definitely grunch.

How many outs?

I'll bite. Less than 2. You're jack outs have to be discounted because they could make str8s for others, so 1.5 outs. There are bd str8 outs, but only 1 to the nuts so maybe add 1/2 an out for that.

Not many. Backdoor straight draw. And any J would have to be discounted because it could make a straight for someone else.

if we're behind we have two outs. our J makes a straight, but we also have a backdoor straight. a 3-card straight is worth 1.5 outs, but ours is different as its JQK and not 789 or TJQ. we can only make two straights instead of three. so just make it easy and say we're discounting our jacks by negating our own backdoor straight draw.

2 jacks, discounted because a J completes some straight draws, call it 1.5

BDSD also good for about 1.5

I'd call it 3.
