Somebody gimme an effective line here?

BisonBison Hand Coverter is giving me an error right now.

If you can overlook my weak formatting, can you please tell me how much I need to raise this, if any.

This is the very first hand of a Party 33:

There aren't any draws that others could hit on the turn, so I would call. On the turn, I would raise.

No straights or flushes out there -- only thing that can really hurt you (presuming no one has 77 or AQ) is if someone hits a set on the turn or river. Given that, I'd say you want action. Call the flop, raise up the turn.

I raise to 75.

If someone had 22 and knew you had KQ, they could correctly call here. Give them a chance to make a mistake. Also, I think this is the best chance of getting a lot money in the pot.

Okay, I totally see what you're saying about giving underpairs a correct chance to draw to their boat -- but do you really believe raising the flop gets more money in this pot over 100 similar situations than calling and waiting for the turn? If so, why -- wouldn't this raise often scare off the field (either by them folding or folding to any bet on the turn)?

I did call, and the turn came blank with 15-15-15 again. So I raised to like 150 (2 hearts on the board) and everyone folded. I felt dumb. I guess I wanted to see if anyone really felt like they had anything and wanted to play ball.

Way too much of a raise?

Delete the "Texas" and it should work fine in the converter.

I'd make a standard 1/2 - 3/4 pot size raise. I think I'd get called by a lot of hands I beat with that raise and it doesn't look fishy.

Re: Somebody gimme an effective line here?

I dunno, I would raise the flop a lot of the time. Check-calling the flop and raising the turn is the line donks like to take when they flop trips or a set, so they'll get suspicious if you do it. They will be less likely to give you credit for a Queen if you raise the flop than if you raise the turn, IMO. Also...if someone has a hand like 88, I'd rather raise them now than wait until the turn, when another overcard to their pair will make them more likely to fold.
Also, if someone has a hand like TT, you might be able to get another bet on them on the river, since you'll have a chance to simulate weakness on the turn by checking behind. If you raise the turn, you're unlikely to get called on the river even if you get called on the turn: check, bet, bet looks stronger than bet, check, bet.

I just thought of all this nonsense, so if it seems insane, it probably is.
