Too aggressive with pocket pair?

Villain is loose (54.9 VPIP & 11.3% PFR) and seems passive (more on that point later). My thoughts are throughout the post. All feedback is appreciated.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter

UTG ($13.25)
Hero ($39.7)
Button :#A500AF(Villain)/ ($62.26)
SB ($27.7)
BB ($18)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, Button <font color="#A500AF">(Villain)</font> calls $2, SB (poster) calls $1.75, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: ($6.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
I figure this is a good flop for pocket 5's and bet out.
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $5</font>, Villain calls $5, SB folds.

Turn: ($16.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
At this point, I look at Villain's aggression factors (F=0.83; T=0.86; &amp; R=4.67) and deduce that he is a fish/calling station that gets aggressive on the end when he hits his draws. So, I decide to fire a second barrel. This the part of the hand I am least sure about, so please comment on my thought process here.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $8</font>, Villain calls $8.

River: ($32.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, Villain checks.

Final Pot: $32.50

Newbie response...

He doesn't give you a lot of information, so I think it was fine. It doesn't look too agressive at all, and betting the river would seem like one of those instances where you could only get called by a better hand. He probably had a T and didn't like his kicker very much, but in that case I'd say it was him that misplayed it, and not you.
