Fixed Incomes/Higher Yields

OK . . . I have a fair amount of liquid cash (a good deal of it courtesy of some friendly people at Party Poker).

Can I do significantly better than BOA's 2.3% short term CDs and at the same time maintain liquidity?

I would like the base of my investment strategy to be an earn of 8-9% on liquid and riskless "cash" -- but that's just what I would like.

I don't know what you mean by riskless cash, but you won't find an 8- 9 % gauranteed return without risk. To find something with that high of a fixed return you should probably look to junk bonds or REIT's

FYI, junk bonds and REIT's are not very tax efficient investments.
