Rudy\'s note (attn Matt Flynn) and tonight\'s jukebox selections
 

OK, I just realized that I forgot to mention the highlight of Rudy's in my post last week. Free hot dogs. Yep. They have a hot dog machine cranking out hot dogs and serve them up free to all their loyal customers. And good free popcorn too.

Also, it is important to mention that I'm not really that big a fan of Rudy's. It just happens to be around the corner from a close friend's place. And also lots of FIT chicks hang out there, which is cool.

Alright. Tonight I didn't get a shot at the jukebox. But here's some of what was selected by my party:

Journey - Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
Beastie Boys - No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn
Steve Earle - <something that wasn't copperhead road>
Van Halen - Panama

Even though it is a complete dive bar, they have this new networked jukebox that lets you access all manner of songs. It's weird, though, they manage to not have any AC/DC available and for certain bands have the most random songs (ie: 6 G&R songs, but no Sweet Child / Paradise City / Welcome to the Jungle / Patience etc.....)

I love Rudys. That stretch had some good bars. The GAF is pretty solid. And Swine on 9 isn't bad for divey goodness.

Best bar food in the city could be argued for Mercury Bar too.

I have spent a lot of time over the years at Bar 89, Merc Bar, and all the other places like that down there.
