OK, here we go.

1991: 6th in the NL
1992: 1st
1993: 2nd
1994: 2nd
1995: 3rd
1996: 3rd
1997: 2nd
1998: 3rd
1999: 2nd

Maybe if Atlanta actually wins something in the post season again, they'll get back to the top.

Atlanta sports fans have also sold out the GA Dome for the past two Falcons seasons. I'm willing to bet they do it again this year.

Wow, probably the second best team in the majors for a decade behind the Yankees

I know you're hating on the Bravos. I will, too.

Know what the prize is for being second best? Jack [censored]. Bobby Cox should be fired for not being able to close the deal.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a baseball thread that wasn't typed by Dead.

1995 doesn't exist, then.

By the way, Eli Marrerro, a bench player for the Braves last season, got a standing ovation when he pinch hit for the Orioles in the 8th inning.

The thing that was impressive about that was the way Smoltz handled him. No mercy. Smoltz dialed it up a notch and struck him out. He blew him away, which he did to everyone, but it seemed like his intensity and velocity was higher... He looked like he wanted to kill him. The guys are probably friends so he wanted to make sure that he lost no edge.

If Charles Thomas ever comes to the plate in ATL, oh man...

No kidding. The game will stop for 20 minutes.

Let me break it down for you:

Chicago fans pay to watch their teams play
Atlanta fans pay to watch their teams win

I see zero point in going to a Hawks game right now. Why the hell should I, seriously? A Braves, Thrashers, of Falcons game, on the other hand, I will gladly watch.
