I was hoping to catch someone on a flush draw and win w/top pair. Looking back on it, I think that this was too much of a desparation play. What do you think?

This depends if you really know this guy. It looks to me that he either limped AA or KK or he went all in on a semibluff at the flush draw. Maybe he had Qx, but I dunno. It comes down to pot odds and probability on what he has. You have to take into account though, that if he has KK, you're drawing dead pretty much. And if he has a flush draw, you're not even a 2:1 favorite. It's very rare for you to be far ahead here.

Maybe a larger flop bet would discourage him from a semibluff, but I really don't know how I'd play this. I think I would've played it very similarly and not been happy about it.

How'd it turn out?

The raise all in doesnt really look like a flush draw it looks like a made hand, I dont like the call.
