I am right now chalking up the longest losing streak of my career so far. Through the past 21 tourneys I have:

1 - 1st
0 - 2nd
4 - 3rd
16- out of money

So I am running at about a -44% ROI, which is painful to say the least. I know it may be statistically insignificant, but how long before you start to worry? I have been running about 25-30% positive ROI over the last 500 or so tourneys.

What is everyones longest bad streak? Is play getting better?

Thanks,

-Joe

I've been on a 3 week losing streak...it seems to me that I'm facing better opposition as well but it may be that after too many bad beats/bad calls it's my game that's gotten worse...

When you hit 2500 that streak wont look so bad anymore. If it turns out to be your worst run over 2500 games, you're awesome.

It's probably just bad luck. Playing tired, and playing too many at a time could be factors worth looking into.

normally I don't care for bad beat of 200 games, but when it past 300, I start to worry. I noticed that there are more tough tables at $50 and $30, which I usually only see at $100. I think party opponent did get better, but the game is still beatable. When you feel something is seriously wrong, it's usually bad luck + better opponent.

I did some figuring awhile back and i believe I calculated that if your ITM% is about 40, then you'd expect an 0/20 streak 1 in 5000 tourney's so 1/17 is something you would expect every few thousand tourneys, and it may come after a few hundred. I have learned that when you have lost a few in a row your play can really be affected, for me I may start to worrry more about busting than winning, and in these 1 mistake can make a huge diference. you may want to take some time off and play some cash games or multis for a bit.
