REPOST- Tom Weidman -Post of the Year

The series "Confessions of a math guy" paret1,2,3 can be probably be granted the title of post of the year. Not only he explains in a very articulate form very complex subjects, but he does it without the burden of heavy analytical mathematical methods.
Tom not only scored 800 in the the Math part of the SAT test but performed equally good in the English portion (Sorry Dave, had to throw that one).

The series is a gem in the pit of RGP.

I rarely read RGP, but when I do I usually google search Tom's posts. He puts out a lot of thought provoking stuff. I do think that series is a good few posts. I also get a good laugh when he gets flamed by someone who probably failed "math for grocery shoppers" on their way to failing out of school, or someone who thinks memorizing odds to make a flush is poker math.
