The Mirage: Las Vegas.

20-40 Holdem.

SB: J,9o

Two limpers. Late Raiser (Local Pro-female, good looking female, God I want her!)

I call.

BB calls. Limpers call. $200 pot

Flop: 7,4,2 rainbow.

I check.

Everybody checks! Shit!

Turn: 9. (can't remeber if flush draw now is on board- don't think so)

Me: Bet!

Fold to Local Sex pot! Raise!

Me: I say :"That wasn't nice" and call.

River Blank: She says nothing and bets the river after my check. I'll show her: Call says I. A,9 shows she. "Ugh" says I. "Sorry baby" says she. Well even though my "Johnson" came to attention and I got a cheap thrillfrom her baby comment I felt stupid!

What say ye?

What did you think she was raising with? And do yoy take Viagra before you play poker?

1) "God I want her"

Lust is one of the seven deadly sins. Invoking the name of the almighty (God, not Sklansky) in association with it is borderline blasphemy.

2) "SB: J,9o Late Raiser I call."

Calling a raise from the small blind with J-9o is one of the eight deadly sins.

3) "Everybody checks! Shit!"

Profanity is one of the nine deadly sins.

4) "Raise! I . . call"

Allowing your Johnson to influence your poker play is one of the ten deadly sins. What'd you put her on? [Remember, I'm asking what did you put her on, not what would you like to put her on. . .]

I heard a rumor you were coming out to L.A. True?

Fercrying out loud. How the hell ya gonna call a raise with J9o and wonder how you lost money?

Vince,

I think a significant amount of blood was already drained from your brain by this Johnson character before the flop when you called in the first place. Yikes! On a good day jack-nine offsuit is at best a marginal call in the big blind against two limpers, a late raiser and the small blind.

By the turn life-sustaining brain oxygen was obviously missing when the button raised your top pair, weak kicker and yet you called with at best a five outer. Note that she had to respect your bet since you fired from the blind into three opponents. Had you been on her right then a raise with overcards is more of a possibility.

I just can’t imagine the player you describe making a turn raise and river bet with a worse hand than yours. Hopefully you got over your cheap thrill and didn’t suffer too much brain damage.

Anyway, I still hope you make it to Los Angeles and look me up.

Regards,

Rick

Thinking that you could "poke her",she poked you really good! Well, you are not alone. We guys have been falling into that trap although quite nice could also mean death in this case to our bankroll.
