After the villan called your turn bet on a board of J J 5 5, what do you put him on? It is very unlikely that he has a J or a 5, but he doesn't seem to be afraid of them so I would have to put him on another pocket pair or an ace.

I think your river bet will, at best, result in a split pot since the villan will most likely (and did) call a rver bet with ace high or better. Therefore, I don't think it is a good one.

My aim was to get him to fold an ace, as my play indicates a J or 5, no? Perhaps he doesn't have an A often enough to override other concerns?

Lets say he has an ace (which I think is your best case scenario). If he calls a lot, like you said, and called your turn bet, why do you think he will fold to a river bet when a total blank hits?

Dude, sucks to be you if that's your best case scenario. My best case scenario involes like the penthouse at the Palms, ten hot women, like two hundred bottles of Cristal, and a Jacuzzi filled with cans of whipped cream and hundred dollar bills.

Hi, MP2 calls with 77-88-99 /images/graemlins/smile.gifsee your raise as a positional bet in late positions ( if the table is tight)with A-k,Q,j,t so he check and calls, if he think you are a little loose and aggressive. /images/graemlins/wink.gif and when second J hits, check and call all the way: IMHO /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't like the best on the river. If he calls with a higher pocket pair than 5 he wins. Your praying for an ace at best. Also if he calls the turn with an ace, he'll call the river so betting to get him to fold the ace is not logical reasoning in my mind in the majority of hands. Otherwise you played the hand well. Also what if he raises you on the river and he has an ace. This type of semi-bluff would make you sick, either you call and possibly lose to a better hand. (in which case he maximized his money) or you have to make a gutsy call for a chop chop. Why put yourself through it for no reason.

Definite check-call on the river.

Wouldn't the girls in the tub get hurt with all of those cans of shaving cream bouncing around?
