Ok,
I play 3-6 limit online and 5-10 limit live. Anyway, I just realized that I had a major leak in my game.
Which is betting on a river either in a multi-way pot or heads up pot when a scare card comes out.
For example, a gut shot or a flush when a person is just cold calling your bets and reraises the whole time. I now realize that my top two or top pair is better just check when I am in the BB or in late middle position. This way I get reraised and also since I checked the guy might think I was actualy on a draw and he will most likely value bet his small pair and I could just call and hopefully win the pot or if he does hit his draw only lose 1 BB instead of 2. I say 2 because many players I play with like to bluff raise when they don't hit their draws and pot odds usually dictate for me to call just incase if it is a bluff.
Anyway, my question to you, is this a good strategy to retort to check calling on a scary river?
