This is a follow-up to my other post (http://tinyurl.com/2rghh). Similar situation: level 3 and facing the big stack. This time, my holding is not quite as good, but still quite good.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

UTG+1 (t1930)
MP1 (t1980)
MP2 (t710)
Hero (t1760)
CO (t1225)
Button (t795)
SB (t1365)
BB (t1935)
UTG (t1800)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K/images/graemlins/club.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
<font color="666666">2 folds</font>, MP1 calls t50, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t200</font>, <font color="666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">MP1 raises to t1980</font>, Hero ???

The mantra of "you want to go all-in with AK, not call all-ins" was ringing in my ears. However, MP1 had been doing a lot of bullying, so I wasn't sure if he had a legitimate hand or not.

Why chance it? The limp-reraise usually screams AA. Even if it isn't, why put all your chips at risk right here?

Easy fold. You have plenty of chips. Even if you're ahead, do want to chance going broke here?

There will be better spots.

"Beware of the early limper!"

This early, you don't want to risk all your chips with an AKo when you are probably against a high pocket pair like QQ, KK, AA. Easy lay down

I agree with Kurn that he is telling you he has AA here. I never understood why people do this. I guess they think their being tricky but it gives their hand away so easily most of the time.

I did fold it, so I'm glad to know that the concensus seems to be that I did the right thing.

Thanks all, for replying.

I have seen people do this with small/medium pairs, but it is very rare indeed to see them do it with a hand like AQ or AJ. Since you're in a good chip position I would just fold.
