I heard on the radio today that this casino was finally being opened today. I knew Governor Pataki passed some bill like 2-3 years ago allowing the casinos to be built. Being an avid Atlantic City goer, and only 45 minutes from this new casino that was built, I would of thought I would of heard about it. Anyone know anything about this? Does this new casino have a pokerroom, or plan to put one in? After trying to find some information all I came across was that they are actually building a few more.

The casino is where the old Monticello Racetrack used to be...Any info or links to where I can find stuff would be greatly appreciated!

Found this:

Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York State will be opening (projected July 1, 2004) a video gaming facility in its newly renovated Raceway building. The facility will house 1,800 Video Gaming Machines (VGM#s) which look and function like regular slot machines. Other amenities will include a 350-seat buffet, food outlets, and a lounge.

Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway will be regulated by the New York State Racing + Wagering Board and the New York Lottery. Monticello is located in Sullivan County, New York State at the foot of the beautiful Catskill Mountains only 90 minutes from Manhattan, yet is a rural location with affordable housing, plentiful outdoor activities, and a quality of life other gaming locations can only dream about.

Hope that helps

My guess is that it will be only slots, like the one they just opened at Saratoga near me. The only places to find table games and poker in NY state (excluding the underground card clubs in NYC) are at Indian casinos like Turning Stone to my knowledge.
