Playing in a 3/6 game that is loose and aggressive pre and post flop

UTG+1 dealt JTo

UTG (loose-aggressive) calls
I call
UTG+2 calls
MP folds
MP+1 (solid) raises (I put him on a big pair or maybe AK)
folded to the BB
BB calls
UTG calls
I call
UTG+2 calls

flop comes 989r

UTG bets
I raise
...thinking at this point 4 things:
- if someone has a monster, they'll raise and re-raise
- I was expecting MP+1 to raise, which would build the pot
- might get a cheap (single-bet) or free card on the turn
- would disguise my hand just a bit in case the str8 hit

UTG+2 folds
MP+1 raises (on queue)
BB folds
UTG calls
I call

turn is 3 (puts 2 clubs on the board)

UTG bets (I'm sure he's got trips, probably with an A or K now)
I call (if I was suited in clubs I'm raising here)
MP+1 reaches for his chips like he's going to raise, but both me and UTG are reaching for chips as well so he just calls

river is a 7o

UTG bets again
I raise
MP+1 folds
UTG calls

I show the str8 for the winner
I count ~18BB

Questions:
- did I play this hand well?
- was my raise on the flop and the reasoning behind it correct?
- is play like this a long term money winner? (I'm thinking it is since on the flop and turn I put in a total of 2.5BB to win 18BB)
- any other comments?

Fold pre-flop.

I wouldn't raise the flop because if MP1 has a big pair he might re-raise, and if UTG has a 9 he most likely will. I don't want to be putting in 3 or 4 bets each round chasing a straight with a paired board.

Turn, ok.

River, ok.

I don't think playing this hand, in this spot, in this game will be a long term money maker for you. You'll make more by folding.

In a laggy game this hand hits the muck in a hurry from EP, but In a loose passive game Ill limp along with the rest of the table, hopefully /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I dislike raising a draw (especially something worse than a nut/2nd nut flush draw) out of position on the flop. Ill call since Im getting the odds for it, but no sense putting more money in than neccessary for a stright draw on a paired board.

Other that, the turn and river play were fine.

Just my 2 cents,

Pre-flop - Fold. Suited you could play it in a loose, limpy game.

Flop - Call and look to string along some other players who will pay you off when you make your draw. If you raise you knock them out, and you will be three bet by anyone holding a 9.

Rest is good.
