Hi
I'd like to know how many hands/hours you must have played to get a GOOD value of your EV and variance at that level?
I guess my 3.5k hands isn't enough?

GOOD? in caps? 100,000 hands. i'm not kidding.

Not even close for EV, but your variance estimate should be pretty good. Take the square root, divide it by the square root of observations, multiply by 2, and you'll have about a 95% error band on your observed WR.

Thanks. Figured it was quite high.
What I consider to be "good" is with an error of about 5%. Still same answer then?

my 100k number, as you can probably guess from its perfectly even nature, is largely subjective. i have been playing and using pokertracker for a long time, though, and i haven't found any instances where somebody deviated signifigantly after 100k hands.
