A couple hands earlier, I had to fold my unimproved AKo on the turn after a couple of attempts to win the pot, which explains why my stack is short.

With so many limpers, I thought that MP2 could have a wide range of raising hands. Was this a "push or fold" situation?

don't think this was push or fold, as you had 30 times the BB more or less... i think you could put in a 3x raise, or try to limp in and extract chips when no A flops... but when the ace hits it's difficult to play. I know this isn't an all in or fold situation though.

I was already facing a raise to 100 (from MP2). I think that dramatically changes things.

I agree. I wouldn't just limp 1/5 of my stack here with many people behind, and hope that a K or A doesn't flop. I think it is a push or fold situation.

I'd lean to push.

You played this perfect.

You can't call (violate the 5/10 rule), you can't fold. You can't raise anything than less than your stack. I'm not sure what kind of reply you are looking for. Good play.

Sometimes affirmation is just as good of a learning tool as criticism. Thanks!

with 540 in chips this is the right play. too bad that you ran into QQ. Twice in teh last week i was in second place heads up to win and pushed all in with pocket pairs only to run into AA. /images/graemlins/mad.gif It happens but that doesnt mean you made the wrong play.
