UB $5+$.50 $500 added MTT.

I'm CO with A /images/graemlins/spade.gif K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif and 735.

Blinds are 30/60

MP2(645) open raises to 120, MP3(2790) cold-calls, folded to me, I push, folded back to MP2, who calls, MP3 folds....

Good push?

I don't like it, AK is not really a re-raise hand IMO.

Its a good push. With the extra caller in there you are getting a good overlay if you end up with a call from an underpair. You don't have a ton of chips and this looks like the perfect oppurtuntiy to get some. I just hope you didn't run into AA or KK, but if you did sometimes its inevitable. I actually did exactly the same thing yesterday and somebody was kind enough to call me with AQ. Unfortunately, a Q hit. Moral of the story, sometimes you're gonna get called and lose. In this case even if you get called by an underpair and lose its still the right play.

If your playing AK consistently as a not reraising hand, you must be bleeding off chips with it. AK is the ultimate reraising hand because it is so rarely in big trouble. You need to put opponents to the test with AK otherwise you are shutting yourself out of the turn and river and losing equity. The only situations where this doesnt apply are where the money is very deep (so conceivably the first 2 maybe 3 rounds of a stars tourney you should play it more conservatively).

I think it's a good push. 99 times out of 100 you'll play MP2 for the blinds plus MP3's cold call, giving you a nice overlay even if you're a little behind.

i agree it's a good push, and i don't think it's a lock that MP2 will call. if he will call a mediocre hand, all the better. sklansky in TPFAP says pushing with AK is a good bet when your raise is 2-5 the pot, which it is here.

If MP2 had raised to 180, then it's an easy push. With his minraise to 120, be suspicious of AA or KK -- especially if you know the player's opening raise is usually larger.

If the stacks were deeper, a reraise to say, T400 would be better, but since AK likes to be all in preflop, the push is better, IMO. I don't think it's close. You have overlay vs. a coin flip, and plenty of folding equity.

Yes, your stack size is getting small, so you got to make a move.

Terrible play by MP2. He should not have minraised in the first place with 77, but once he did he needs to fold to an all-in reraise (even though there is a caller between him and the reraiser).
