Since I'm right on the brink in terms of bankroll to be playing 15-30, I've been keeping an eye on Party's 15 game. It seems to me that these games are as soft as the 5-10 games on Party.

The last 5 weeks there has been a huge increase in the number of table hours played by 2+2ers at 5-10. The games are not tough, but they're not nearly as soft as they were 2 months ago. (In fact, I can recall at least 3 posts in the SS forum complaining about this.)

This afternoon I was on the loosest 5-10 table with an average pot of $79. At the exact same time, there were 16 - count 'em 16 - 15-30 tables w/ average pots over 8 BBs.

I'm wondering if there's anyone here who has been playing both - or recently stepped up - and can comment on the quality of games in comparison to each other.

the exact same thing has happened in the 15/30 at party. i play with many 2+2ers every time i play now. whatever you decide, do consider how high the variance is.

Hmm. What about the overall looseness of the table? Have they always been around 10 BBs/pot in the early afternoon? Because when I play 5-10 in the early afternoon it's rare to see more than 1 table w/ bigger than $80 pots.

I'd rather play at a table with 10BB pots and 2 other 2+2ers than 8BB pots and two other 2+2ers. (Even though I expect the average 2+2er at 15-30 is better than the average 2+2er at 5-10... and probably by more than a little.)

the tables are quite noticably tighter and worse in general. it seems that the passive bad players are slowly getting replaced by the 2+2/tight players, and the aggressive bad players are getting more aggressive. this leads to higher swings and less opportunities to "strike back" because they're dumping chips to the other smart guys when you don't have a hand.

Don't assume a 2+2er is a good player in whatever game you are in.

(assuming you 3+ table) How about adding 1 15/30 in amongst your current 5/10 games?
