....i need some. I try to strickly adhere to sklansky's guidlines, but I get so bored and tired of folding. I know the answer is simple. Have patience I know. So I'm not asking what I'm doing wrong. What I'm asking for is how to deal with my bordom. Most of the hands I lose are due to strickly not having the patience to fold 30 hands in a row waiting for good cards.

....this was more of a vent than anything else.... /images/graemlins/wink.gif

What about something you can do between hands, something you can easily put down when you get a playable hand?

Or maybe you could play games with yourself on the hands you aren't playing - try to put opponents on a particular hand, etc.

Do you multi-table?

i bet you're only playing one game. Play 3 or 4 games, trust me you won't be bored.

Learn how to watch and disect a hand you're not literally involved in. Try putting them on hands, learning how they play. Also watch how others react to the hands that are shown down. This can also clue you into how well they read hands or situations.

To me, this is like watching my favorite drama show on tv. Except there is usually much more crying, bitching and whining by men on the table than on tv.

It does take a bit to really learn how to watch a hand. I cant remember the last time i was really 'bored' at a table.
When i start to get bored, it can be a small form of tilt, so i look to be leaving or taking a break soon. My attention is not on the game enough.

I would suggest multi tabling, but even that can become a little boring sometimes. I like to play in the same room as a TV so I can watch something in between hands.

I would like to be able to do as bernie suggests, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. At least not in limit games. In SNGs I can watch every hand and feel genuine drama to keep me interested, since so many chips can move on one hand.

When I get bored I just play 4 tables, then I'm so busy, there's no time to be bored. This is probably awful for the bb/100, but likely much better for the bb/hr.
