Single Table 10+1 SnG

Was this a good time to go all in or should I have picked a better spot?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed)

saw flop|<font color="C00000">saw showdown</font>

<font color="C00000">SB (t1920)</font>
BB (t2440)
UTG (t495)
<font color="C00000">Hero (t985)</font>
Button (t2160)

Preflop: Hero is dealt 7/images/graemlins/club.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t985 (All-In)</font>, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, SB calls t885, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>,

W/the blinds @ 100/200 and me being singnificantly shortstacked I decided to make a stand. I thought calling and folding would leave me w/too few chips to do much with. Any raise to win the pot right there would leave me significantly shortstacked so I decided to just take my chances and go all in. Comments appreciated

Flop: (t2170) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="blue">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

I'd make the same play. It's just the luck of how the cards fall sometimes, nothing you can do but hope for the best.

Yup, perfect place to make a stand.

Even though another player has a smaller stack, it doesn't do you much good to wait for him to go out. All that does is give someone else 500 more chips and now you're the shortest stack.

Your 77 is a 56.8% favorite over an any-ace/any-pair call so with the added money from the blinds you're easily making a +EV play here IMO.
