Much discussion lately regarding possible earns in various games, how hard they are, etc.
After spending a weekend at the Commerce Casino after going almost a year without playing live limit poker, El Diablo can now categorically state the following (The Commerce 20-40 game here refers to the game on a weekend while a tournament is being held at the Commerce - game conditions at other times may vary):
a) The Commerce 20-40 game is an easier game to beat than the Party 3-6 game.
b) A very good player in the Commerce 20-40 game can definitely make in the neighborhood of $80/hr.
El Diablo played 2 sessions of limit poker this weekend and the general level of play in both was quite similar. Three hands as evidence:
Each of these hands involved different groups of players
Hand 1
Pre-flop: UTG raises, 2 callers, Blinds call.
Flop: KJ2r checked to raiser, bet, 3 callers.
Turn: KJ2T (two clubs) checked to raiser, bet, 2 callers.
River: KJ2T4 (three clubs) SB bets, call. SB wins with 8c3c.
Hand 2
Pre-flop: Raise, 3-bet, SB calls, call.
Flop: 338 (two diamonds) SB bet, call, raise, 3-bet, call, call.
Turn: 3387 bet, call, call.
River: 33876 bet, call, call. SB wins w/ 73o.
Hand 3
Pre-flop: UTG limps, 2 callers, CO raises, Button calls, SB 3-bets, BB goes into the tank and finally folds, UTG now says "wow. that is exactly what I was worried about. I really did not want that to happen." and tanks for a while, then finally calls, called to CO who caps and everyone calls.
Flop: 356r SB checks, UTG bets, some calls, CO raises, Button calls, SB folds, UTG 3-bets, some folds, CO calls, Button calls.
Turn: 356Jr. UTG bets, CO and Button call.
River: 356J6. UTG bets, CO calls, Button raises, UTG furiously slams down chips and calls, CO calls. Button shows Q6o. UTG turns over 2h4h to take it down.
The 20-40 games this weekend were softer and had consistently worse play than any online table at any level El Diablo has ever witnessed.
