An easy playoff series for the Pistons /images/graemlins/smile.gif as they totally destroyed the Lakers in the finals. I heard a few references to the fact that the Pistons did it the "right way" (Larry Brown was one who made the reference). I take this as slam on the Lakers approach in acquiring players like Malone and Payton. It seems to me that if the "wrong way" brings you a title it isn't very wrong.

I think by "the right way" he meant with a team oriented approach, passing, and defense, rather than a couple of superstars playing one on one with their defenders.

I agree. It's stupid to talk about "right way" or "wrong way." Whatever works is the right way. I can't imagine how anyone could consider it somehow wrong for the Lakers to try and sign the best players they can, same as every other team.

As a Laker fan, I'm looking at the bright side now. At least we know the NBA isn't fixed /images/graemlins/wink.gif
