How many river cards make this a split pot and what are they?

Not sure why this is a riddle... maybe I'm oversimplifying.

I only could find the non-spade 7's as pot-splitting river cards.

10 cards would result in a split pot:

4 /images/graemlins/club.gif 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif T /images/graemlins/spade.gif 9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 7 /images/graemlins/club.gif k /images/graemlins/spade.gif 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Do you see why?

Are 8 of them because the deck is bad?
Then shouldnt we add

11) Joker
12) A 'Bridge' scoring card. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif
13) Mrs Bunn, the Baker's wife.

Is this a trick question?

OK, I got 8 the non-spade Aces, Quees and the non-spade sevens. Am I missing something?

7 /images/graemlins/club.gif and 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif?

10, because if a card already in play comes up twice the hand is forfeited and both players get their chips back, effectively splitting the pot.

If a non-spade A or Q comes up, the 44 wins because he would have two pair (7s and 4s with A or K kicker) while the other hand would only have 7s.

I say two. (non-spade 7s)

Process of elimination will do the trick.

Straight flushes: No way for the board to straight flush, no way for both players to straight flush. Next hand.

Quads: One card to come, only one pair on board. No quads.

Boat: Player 1 can get a boat, player 2 cannot. Board can't boat. Next.

Flush: Player 2 can get a flush, player 1 cannot. Board can't flush. Next.

Straight: Player 2 can get a straight, Player 1 cannot. Board can't straight. Next.

Trips: Trips on board gives player 1 a boat. No way for player 2 to get trips. Next.

Two pair: Ah-ha!

Player 1 already has two pair, 9s and 4s. If an 8 or a T comes, player 2 will have a bigger two pair. We can't have that. If a king comes, player 1 is outkicked. Can't have that either. If a 7 comes, player 1's pair is useless and the king kicker players. Can't be the 7 of spades though or 7 of diamonds.

So we've got 7/images/graemlins/club.gif 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif

That's the only 2-pair I can find that will tie it up.

A pair won't do it even with an ace because player 1's best 5-card hand would be 99AK7 and player 2's would be 99AKT.

High card won't do the trick either because player 1 already has a pair.

So there are 3 river cards that split the pot and they are 7/images/graemlins/club.gif 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif

Edit: I had a brain fart with kings. Changed to 7s. oops /images/graemlins/smile.gif
