if you are debating between the two (spread vs. moneyline), i would take the moneyline on LAL (of course as of right now i am not betting the game at all; of course a few square shops have -2.5 which looks real nice compared to the 3's and 3.5's out there). somebody was saying earlier that a line of +3ev should be about +140, so +150 looks real nice.

sorry, the +150 looks real nice if you are leaning towards the lakers. i am not saying it is a good bet overall, just if one was to bet on lal, this would be the better play.

OK, I'm a sports book neophyte, but I understand why a line might include a half-point. Even though its not possible to score one half of a point I get that it eliminates the possibility of tying the spread.

*BUT* What purpose does a quarter point serve?

Typo I would assume. BUT, you can get quarter spreads when it comes to soccer, the book will grade it as 2 separate wagers. If it's -.5 and -1 -115, you essentially have 2 bets for half of your original bet each, -.5 -115 is one and -1 -115 is the other.
