I was watching GSN (formerly Game Show Network) tonight. They reran an episode from 7/19/53 in which Ronald Regan was the mystery guest.

For those not familar with the show, a regular panel of four people wearing blindfolds ask yes/no questions to determine who the mystery guest is. Reagan was remarkably goofy on the show. I don't remember ever seeing him that way. He was using several accents to throw off the panel including what could best be described as a nerd accent.

I don't think I've ever seen Reagan so funny before.

Another similar "early TV" thing about Reagan...

I remember watching an eposide of Laugh In from about 1968. On that show, they always did a segment called "News from 20 years in the future" where they made up funny news stories from 1988. On this show, they started the segment,

"President Ronald Reagan..." and everyone started laughing.

DOC: Let me ask you something, Future Boy. Who's the President of the United States in 1984?

MARTY: Ronald Reagan.

DOC: The actor? Who's Vice President, Jerry Lewis?
