View Full Version : table selection in Las Vegas, advice needed.

I am about to visit Las Vegas and am looking to play in a medium stakes game (10-20 to 20-40 ish ). My question is, what is the best table limit to play and where?

Here is some info on me if it helps. I have been winning some/breaking even at the 4-8 and 5-10 tables at most casinos around Birmingham, AL (Biloxi, Tunica, Philadelphia) but have been mostly losing on the internet sites.

I like to play conservative and semi-aggressive and am looking for a table that isn't too wild.

Certainly, "it depends" is the answer because at any moment a table can go on tilt, or tighten up. Sometimes a pro shows up or a fish and changes the game quickly. But, I'm sure some of you are aware of certain tendencies at certain places.

Also, cleanliness, good food etc. is a small factor to throw in.

Thanks!

There are only a few casinos with these limits in vegas with any selection. The Bellagio has fairly easy 15-30 games in my opinion. The Mirage 10-20 tends to be tough locals, the 20-40 there can be scary at times unless I have just encountered extremely bad luck. Most of my biggest losses have occured in this game. If the horseshoe is running games that high, they are usually beatable, but sometimes they don't get enough players for full table. On the weekend, the Orleans will run a good 10-20 game, but they have a little higher rake.

For comps, you can get a buffet ticket at Mirage and horseshoe pretty easy, don't know about Bellagio. $5 off coupon at Orleans for playing a couple hours. Good room rates at Orleans and Mirage compared to regular rates.

These are the only places I have played at those limits. I recommend the Bellagio. I have played there approximately 30 hours in my lifetime at 15-30 and have been down about 3 hours total. Maybe you would want to hear from the regulars more than me, but that is my opinion on the place to play.

I've played about 150 hours in the bellagio 15-30 and I've always found it to be a good game, easier than the foxwoods 10-20 in my opinion. Maybe I was just running good while in vegas though.
