View Full Version : Improving to at least two pair on the flop

I've got 65o in the SB. 1 limper and 3 posters to me, I expect the BB to check. Do I have a call, getting 11:1?

How do I calculate the odds of improving to at least two pair (with trips and a straight-draw or a straight being the better hands)?

No one? I guess I should've made a search first either way. But I WILL be back when I don't understand anything of the stuff that I find. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the odds of making two pair on the flop are something like 48:1...but don't quote me on that. Obviously, the chances that you'll have "two pair OR better" is slightly more in your favor...perhaps 45:1.

You flop trips 1.4%
You flop 2 pair 2%.
You flop straightdraw (I think) about 3.5%

Since they overlap I would guess that you will hit 2pair or better 1/17. But also you can hit 1 pair and some kind of weaker straightdraw.

(If game is passive I would normally call, if its aggressive I would normally fold.)
