Just logged into Party and had to download new software. They have added 2 and 3 table SNG's, also bad beat jackpot tables. Looks interesting.

I can already see the discussions on how to beat the Party SNG multi-tables... I wonder if they will ease up the blind structure.... or keep it just as fast. That would be crazy.

Here's some details about the bad beat tables (2/4 or 3/6 ring games only).

To Qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot
Bad beats will be paid out on real money Hold'Em games (Limits $2/$4 and $3/$6); available under the Bad Beat Jackpot Tab only.
4 or more players must be dealt into the hand.
Players sitting out do not qualify for the jackpot.
The losing hand must contain four 10’s or better to qualify.
Both hole cards must be used in the winner and the loser's hand and the hand must go to a showdown.
The hand must be raked and jackpot contribution collected from the hand to qualify for a bad beat jackpot. (No jackpot contribution will be collected during the Beta Testing period).
If there are two or more hands that qualify for the jackpot within one hand #, then the two highest hands will be considered for the jackpot, with the highest hand being the winning hand (the winner) and the second highest hand winning the bad beat (the loser of the hand).
In the event that two qualifying Jackpot hands are hit at exactly the same time, the hand starting first (based on our system clock) will be awarded the jackpot.
Players must play their hands independently and cannot tell opponents how to act or reveal their hand to other players. Violations will disqualify the hand for the Jackpot.
Fund distribution
Of the distributed amount, 50% will go to the loser of the hand, 25% to the winner and 25% will be split between the other seated players who actively participated in the hand (any player sitting out will not receive a portion of the jackpot).

So you gotta get quads 10 or better cracked? Aren't most B&M jackpots full house or better getting beat?

What if the winner doesnt use their whole cards....

Say the board is AAA 10 10.

Loser has pocket 10's. Winner has Ax. Does that qualify for the bad beat?

Does this make it clear?

My guess is PP uses a higher standard because of the higher volume of hands...

OK then... has anyone thought of the mathematic odds of this happening....

Or maybe I am not thinking on the level of hundreds of thousands of hands being played per day.

In playing in months, I have never seen a bad beat this bad.

I have seen runner runner straight flush to beat out a Ace high flush. Quads over quads a few times... but probably never two PP, always one guy seeing the board trip.

When was the last time someone saw quad 10's get busted? Other than that crappy movie Shade....

The odds are horrible. In the casino I go to it is aces full or jacks or better gets beaten and I find that impossible. I can't imagine wuad 10s.

It's aces full of anything beat by quads or better at the B&M I play at and it gets hit rather regularly (every month or so on average, sometimes 3 times in a weekend). I got the big end 4 weeks ago when I had pocket queens and 3 aces were on the board and my opponant had one.

To pshreck's point, you don't both have to have pockets if your kicker plays. In your scenario of AAATT, if one had pocket 10s and another had an A with a J or higher kicker, it would be a jackpot hand.

Quad 10s beaten is pretty insane. In that same B&M, the Omaha-8 jackpot is quad 9s beaten and it hasn't been hit in 3 years.

Thursday mid-day, Party has 527 real money tables, peaking at over 1100. Foxwoods has 81 poker tables (according to Google). Party deals twice as many hands/hr as the average casino. Party is dealing 20-25 times as many hands as Foxwoods.

While quad 10's make it harder to hit, it probably will be hit more often that the typical casino.

They've finally fixed the startup slowdown bug with big notes files. App is now starting fast and smooth.

Is there anything more annoying than being notified everytime someone wins a 3-table tourney?

Yes. Having the "Congratulations Players you have made the Final Table" banner obscure the pot so you can't see what's in it for 10 minutes.

But the winner notices are a close second.

Wow... They not only fixed notes bug - they made it much worse - this is crosspost of my message from Internet Gambling part of the forum:

"Seems like new PartyPoker upgraded client has some limitation for size of notes taken per player. And it is pretty short. I just inspected notes I have - they all, old and new are now cut to some length after my today's session. F...!!!!!!! They saved it without any warning. What a sabotage. They should alert before killing that much of my past efforts!!! The only one thing which is good - I have backup file from last week. I will import it to PokerTracker and never use that client app itself again for notes taking."
