I think I played this hand okay; the other guy said I was stupid and amateur to go all-in with 88. After his raise, I popped him trying to get him to fold since it was now heads-up. After he went all-in there was already so much money in the pot I had to call especially since I had him covered by about 70.

Your bluff won't get anything except a pure steal to fold. You're representing AA or KK, but there is no way you would limp on the button with either of these hands with 4 limpers already in. So I can't see your opponent folding any legitimate hand.

As foolhardy as your play was, your opponent was the bigger fool to educate you that your play was bad.

Fold to his inital raise. Small favorite/big dog situation almost everytime.
