I'm for raising preflop as well - even tho this hand does pose problems for me post flop.

I tihnk calling the river is good - if UTG+1 did hit a flush then you don't allow him to reraise you - and you may pick up bets from players calling after you.

Also the pot is huge so don't let go for one bet.

Is there a flaw in this thinking?

Raise preflop.

Pot's too big to fold the river to a single bet.

The action here screams flush draw. But the pot is massive and you can't fold this for a single bet. I think you played the hand just fine.
