Just started in on the $10+1 sngs this week after doing a decent amount of thinking and reading about them in the week previous. I did some searching, but couldn't find a consensus answer about what the BR requirements for the SnG's are, if someone could help me out, that would be great. I understand there is some formula, but I'm also just wondering how many buyins in the recommended amount.

Anyway, here's my stats thus far:

(NL tournaments)
#tournaments: 65
ITM: 44.62%
Avg Finish: 4.12
1st: 11
2nd: 10
3rd: 8

I wanted to get some feedback on the "more detail" numbers, (I guess mostly the Agression number, so that's all that'll be in this post, more later I'm sure) but that is a huge amount of stuff, so i'm gonna post that below, and if you just want to skip to the thoughts part, skip to the end of that.

Agression factor:

15/30
Preflop: 1.18
Flop: 3.33
Turn: 2.5
River: 3.20

30/60
Preflop: 2.06
Flop: 5.29
Turn: 4.5
River: 1

50/100
Preflop: 5.07
Flop: 8.5
Turn: 2.67
River: 4

100/200
Preflop: 5.56
Flop: 21
Turn: 0
River: 1

200/400
Preflop: 4.67
Flop: 2.33
Turn: 1
River: 0

300/600
Preflop: 3.75
Flop: 0
Turn: 2
River: 0

400/800
Preflop: 3.92
Flop: 0
Turn: 0
River: 1

500/1000
Preflop: 3
Flop: 1.5
Turn: 0
River: 0

600/1200
Preflop: 1.83
Flop: 0
Turn: 0
River: 0

Now, I personally think that I need to loosen up/get a little more agressive on the bubble, and I have been doing that more lately. I think the aggression number is interesting for the SnGs but that more thought/bigger sample size is needed. Clearly, I have a decent number of hands (not huge, but decent) at the lower limits (691 in 15/30) and not so many as the limits go up, (40 at 600/1200) and the numbers get silly a little at the end as there's a lot of all in or fold preflop. Anyway, let me know if i should be doing better than this. I don't really play all that closely to the Sng guide strategy, and I'm not that great (but improving I think) at NL in general.

Thanks,

Just wanted to say that I finally found a good thread about BR requirements and moving up in the SnGs sorry to have disturbed people with that repeated question.

I'd still very much like to discuss what people think of the aggression statistic at the various levels of the 10+1s.

Will probably post some other interesting-ish stats soon,
Thanks

your itm and distrobution of wins are pretty solid, it is tough to averge much better than that so you are on the right track. I'm still trying to master the sng strategy myself, but it looks like you do need to be more agressive in the later rounds, generally at this stage you need to just push or fold either on the flop or preflop, calling is just too expensive.

As for bankroll I've heard 10-20 buyins. You can actually calculate the probability of a given loosing streak given a known ITM%. for example if your "true" ITM % was .45, then the probability of not placeing 10 in a row is .002, what this means is that you would expect this 2 out of 1,000, sets of 10 tounaments, or 1 out of 5,000 tournamnets, so pretty unlikley but you probably will play 5k sng if you keep at it. and the true itm% will flucxuate, based on oponents, your play etc.. you may want closer to 20 buyins too be really safe, and if you move down after a bad streak less. this of course is just busts in a row, not streaks of loosing/breaking even.
