OT-More computer tech help needed

When I start my computer something is running called sbcwatchdog

anyone know what this is and how I can remove it? I do not see it in add/remove programs.

Do you have SBC DSL or dialup? If yes, you probably don't want to disable it.

No I don't, it might of been sbwatchdog

I am not 100% on this but isn't SBC and Yahoo the same thing? If you have SBC Dialup or DSL it is actually through Yahoo and vise versa. Watchdog is part of their anti-spam tools from what I understand. If you have SBC or Yahoo internet then I believe it should be there, if you don't have them as a provider then I don't know what it is.

Spyware utility installed by the manufacturers of some laptops (Sony) used to monitor browsing habits and send them back to whoever installed it - released by SoftBank.

Is it in the Add/Remove programs folder? If not you'll have to look in the HKLM registry keys are find references to it and delete it out of MSCONFIG.

Download Spybot and/or Adaware (both free)- if it is spyware, one of the two will catch it and wipe it out for you.
