computer tech help needed

My isp was down today so I stupidly used an aol free demo disk to log on and now my computer is screwed. It keeps freezing up and/or slowly draining resources til it freezes.

I cannot play more than a few hands of poker on one table before this starts to happen.

I have uninstalled all of the components I can see, is there any hidden components to look for?

Did you uninstall from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel? If not, I can pretty much guarantee there are system files that were installed that you did not remove (i.e., not places in the Program Folders/America Online directory). I would recommend re-installing, then un-installing from Add/Remove Programs.
