View Full Version : Betting with a low 4-flush into a 1-suited flop

Say I call in the small blind with 5s5d. 5 other players are in, early and middle positions. No raise preflop. The flop comes, say, KsJs6s. Any sense in betting to try to knock out higher 4-flushes? (The idea being that they might hesitate to call seeing as the flop is 1-suited and I called from the SB and could thus easily have a flush already). I'd be curious to hear ruminations on this kind of situation.

With this many players in the pot, you're in a check/fold situation. Betting out here is insane, as there's certainly a bigger spade out there or a K that will call you down. These are micros, after all.

I agree with SoCalPat.

I would add a personal opinion: at micros, you will never ever knock out a flush draw. Now if I had the A of said suit, I might bet. If I had a big pair with a spade, I would bet. And if I had a huge pair I would bet. Not the 5s though.

Thanks. I realized after I posted that it was a silly question. But it's good to have confirmation nonetheless.
