I'll post this in two parts because I had two decisions here that I am not sure on.

MP1 is super loose, plays almost every hand. He is not very aggressive though. BB is kind of loose, I don't know how aggressive.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, Hero calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks,

Flop: (6 SB) 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)

Before I start this reply I'm going to point out that I am, compared to many here, an inexperienced poker player, so if any of you spot holes in my thinking below, please do point them out. I'll appreciate it! That said, on with the post...

If you think that getting hitting top pair would be good enough (say, he had a small pocket pair) then you have 21 outs (3 Jacks, 3 Tens, 4 Sevens, 4 Queens, 7 diamonds), so this is a borderline situation, you have very nearly a 50% chance of hitting a card (21/47), but the additional probability that MP1 may fold would make a bet worthwhile in my opinion.

My (wild and uneducated) guess would be that MP1 has a small pocket pair.

I'd just call here. Presumably he has at least a pair, and I have nothing yet. If I score, I don't want to have scared off the other guy.

Wow. That's some good thinking there. Maybe raising instead of calling is a closer decision than I thought. I'd like to hear what others have to say on this.

What Z said. I am raising. I consider a value raise. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
