Greetings,
My first post. I am posting here as I play micro limits.
"Vol Put$In Pot" is as I understand it the % of flops that you decided to put a bet into the pot pre flop.

How does this relate to "Saw Flop" number. Surely they are different ways of saying more or less the same thing?

What range should this be at for micro limits? What are the implications of this number if it is high or low?

Thanks,
T.

Welcome to the forum!

The values are similar, but the key is "voluntarily." You are forced to put money in as the BB, but if you're able to check to see the flop, it doesn't effect your VP$IP, but it would effect your "saw flop" %.

As far as guidelines, you want your VP$IP around 20% or lower. If you manage that, the other value will take care of itself.

VP$IP actually includes postflop bets as well, since often you'll be in the BB (or posting) and see the flop for free. If you call a flop bet (or bet yourself), it gets counted then.

Ah, I didn't realize that. Thanks for the clarification.

Most people believe that the optimal VP$IP is in the 15%-20% range.
