Week 19 (5/24 - 5/30)
Bad Beat

I sincerely didn't believe I needed a vacation now, but my gf wanted to visit her family on the west coast. So here I was, thousands of miles away in the State of Washington. Poker is Legal here and there are 3 casinos within 2 minutes of driving!

While I was mouthwatering and ready for some live action, my gf mentioned that her family doesn't like me gambling (she used the word "hate"). Not wanting any trouble on a vacation, I refained.

But then we droved down to Los Angeles to visit more families. This time, my urge grew. With Commerce, Bike and Hollywood, L.A. is a fish tank, and my fishes were waiting impatiently. How could I resist? I couldn't. Sadly, I had to entertain a whole group of people and couldn't find any window of opportunity in the 3 nites I statyed in L.A. even though I was unable to resist my urge to "gamble" (or play poker).

During the whole time, I just felt I had never had a worse beat.

Vegas

Finally I got lucky. Someone suggested deviating to Vegas while we were in L.A. Natually, I volunteered for the drive to Vegas. 260 miles and 3.5 hours later, we checked into Mirage. It was only little past 2AM when I finally freed up from the dinner and site seeing. While most were tired and resting, I strolled over to the poker room.

The poker room was half-empty. I checked with the floorman and got myself seated into a 10-20 game while waiting for a seat in the 20-40 game. The players were supprisingly ABC. And being a fancy online player, they are almost too "not-aggressive" for me. Anyway, I adjusted a little bit toward the less aggressive players and proceeded to straddle the first 3 times when I was UTG. got lucky on one of them and decided to play loose. By the time I moved to the 20-40 game, I was stuck (hate to use that word, well temporarily lost) 400 or so. I played slightly tighter and tried to flop a few straights. Out of the many attempts, I was able to turn a nut straight after flopping double gutter. After a few more pots, I was a $325 winner for the night!

I realized it was late and decided to call it a night and cashed out a whole bunch of chips which were mostly my buy-ins. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Unjustly, we had to go back to L.A. the next day and I was not able to play more poker in Vegas. However, I did snuck in a quick online session and won 200 or so on my laptop.

Who said one time that all local champions go broke in Vegas against the "Vegas Pros"???? /images/graemlins/wink.gif, well I didn't go broke maybe it's because I am not a local champ. hehehe...

hope your week was profitable also /images/graemlins/smile.gif
