View Full Version : Will Ed Miller's book feature a gun on the cover?

All of the 2+2 holdem books as well as TPFAP, 7CSFAP, and the Hi/Lo split book have pictures of guns on the cover?

What is with all the violent imagery guys? I suspect Ray Zee has something to do with this.

Are you going to continue this motif on Ed Miller's new book?

I suggest you go with something more commercial for this one. If you need some market research, please call me. I am an expert in consumer research.

I always assumed the gun was there on the cover of HPFAP so the guy on the right could shoot himself after losing a lot of money with AKs vs. 83o. Maybe not.

Exellent question.

Furthermore what hand will be displayed?

I'm thinking winning hand is the second nut straight, losing hand is two pair with a 3rd flush card coming on the river. That should demonstrate the idea of not folding that every educated guess says will be seen throughout the text itself.

And Ed I'm not sure you fully answered my earlier question. So you wear glasses. Will you be pictured with very large glasses and a collared shirt with a huge collar? A dazed look in your eyes would be par for the course as well.

Hi Stefan:

Be careful here. I happen to be the guy on the right.

Best wishes,
Mason

Well, in that context it is better to have a revolver on the cover rather than delicate incidents involving JOEYBITCH.

Actually, there's no gun on the cover of TOP, at least not on my edition which should be the latest.

There's also no revolver on Inside the Poker Mind or The Psychology of Poker.

I recommend a bottle of Heineken and a drawing of someone straddling.

Well, I was joking of course, but that's an actual hand you played? Ouch. My condolences.

I didn't say there was a gun on TOP.

Most certainly the hand must be a set of flopped aces rivered by a backdoor gutshot wheel from a pair of 2's. Oh and we need 18 overcallers also shown.

My very serious reccomendation is to show a 6-9 handed pot being consted by a few decent hands, a couple junk hands, and the Button holding AA. With all five board cards out, AA should win.

I was hoping for one of those crushed-velour warmup suits from the 70's (and, for poker players, the 80's & 90's), but I think I like your idea better. The huge-collared shirt should be worn under and over a leather sports jacket (available from a van by the side of the road in any border state), and should be opened at least four buttons to better display the tasteful gold jewelry.

Ed recently told me what the cover of his book will be. I didn't care for it. My idea was much better.

I liked your idea. If it's better than the one they'll use, I'll soon know. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

i think the gun is only on the books in the "for advanced players" series, so the new ed miller book probably wouldn't have the gun...

I've got $100 that says it will have the gun.
I also have $100 that says that Hold'Em Poker (not FAP) also has the gun.

I won't take that bet because I just saw the cover. Sure enough, there is a gun.

I could see some subtext in other adv. player book covers. But for this book, what's the subtext? a kind of bad beat for both players?

Now if 2+2 had provided a bigger picture, rr2000 wouldn't have had to post a picture with an website ad pasted on it.

tsk tsk

it is hard to tell if this site is affiliated with Conjelco, anyone know?

We are independant from both 2+2 and Conjelco but work closely with the both of them.

Of course there's subtext. It's small stakes, you folded ATo when these idiots capped the turn with their pairs. Hence the gun.

Straddling the Heineken? I think I've seen that pic somewhere on the internet...
