I was searching and searching for a post that I came across a while back where a player had a set range for the player filters under the preference tab. Then he would do a mass icon update.

I could not find this post after searching for 30 minutes.

Can any of you recommend what player preferences would you use for a mass icon update for PT for .5/1 game?

Thanks

My settings:

SETTINGS,Loose Aggressive,Tight Aggressive,Loose Passive,Tight Passive,Fish,Maniac,Rock
Vol Put $ In Pot,Greater than 35%,Less than 25%,Greater than 30%,Less than 25%,Greater than 50%,Greater than 50%,Less than 10%
Pre Flop Raise %,Greater than 10%,Greater than 6%,Less than 6%,Less than 6%,Less than 10%,Greater than 10%,N/A

Now I know this won't look pretty.... try to take the above and save it as a text file. Import it into Excel as a .CSV (Comma Deliminated File). I use these settings for 1/2, 3/6, and .25/.50 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

After using these, this is what I found in my database:
(Party .50/1)

LAG -2.45 BB/100
TAG +0.81 BB/100
LP -5.48 BB/100
TP +4.87 BB/100*
Fish -33.09 BB/100
Rocks -1.03 BB/100
Maniacs -14.30 BB/100

*Makes me wonder if I should cut down on my PFR.

Base them off of your own numbers. That way you will know when you look at someone you have described as loose aggressive, that person will be looser than you and more aggressive than how you usually play. So if your numbers are:

VPIP: 22
PFR: 10

Then run the icons so that player with a VP greater than 22 are marked as loose and less than 22 are tight, etc.

You obviously can add a few layers of loose/tight, but this way gives you some point of reference while you are playing.

Wow.. I didn't even know this was possible!Filter each icon, then check out the summary tab.

LAG +10.79 BB/100
TAG +10.18 BB/100
LP +6.45 BB/100
TP -5.02 BB/100
Fish -16.31 BB/100
Rocks -10.99 BB/100
Maniacs -39.74 BB/100

I just switched to ring games (I mostly play tournaments), what surprised me was how little rocks make, and how similar Loose Agressive and Tight Agressive players results are. This makes me GREATLy rethink my game, once again Poker Tracker is an AMAZING tool!

PS I only have 3,000 or so hands so far playing 1/2, and .50/1

I have never seen this either until now. Question though, does PT update new players according to those filters as they come in? or do you have to enter in the filter information each time you want to update the icon list?

It just seems tedious to have to enter in the information in the filter section everytime you want to update the icons.. or am I missing something?

Thanks

CURRENTLY you have to recreate the filters each time. PTrack Pat - the developer, will be fixing this in Rev 3. Visit his forum for more details.

I don't see an option anywhere to do that.

Stefan - I believe you are replying to my post. Which option? To filter out players or to do the Mass Icon Update?

To apply a filter click the Preferences tab and look near th bottom there is a place to check mark a box and then you put in the ranges you want. From there you go to the Summary tab. It will ask you to save the changes. Click yes. (You can always go back and uncheck mark the filter)

In the Summary tab window there is a button labeled "Mass Icon Update". Click it. You can update / assign a profile icon to your users under the ranges that you set in the filter.

Hope that answers your question and makes sense.

There was a post recently in the internet (I think) section detailing how to maximize PokerTracker's ability to filter players and such. I lost the post, so hopefully someone has the link saved or knows what I'm talking about.

Any idea what the name of the post was? Maybe it can be found through the search option.

I can't remember the name of the post. It was pretty detailed and seemed to be posted by a forum regular so someone probably knows.

The one I am referring to was much longer and detailed, but that should be a good replacement.

This sounds like too few hands. Players may be miscategorized if they get a particularly good or bad run of cards.

of course its far too few hands, but sill its fasinating to see how players within a set range of playing characteristics operate.
