I would have folded on his bet on the river.

I normally don't like drawing to draws when the board is paired, plus be raised PF, so he must have hit something on the flop of such high cards. Basically, he was just waiting for you to catch something by the river.

You may want to think about your preflop play here. Why cold call a large raise (6x the BB) with a trap hand? Fold and watch this guy take the blinds.

Lesson #1: Do not cold call raises, Forget call button is there and ask yourself fold or raise? The answer is so obvious. And of course this isnt always true but more than not it will save your chips.

The only real part I Disagree with is the raise at the end.... it seems like it will only be called by a boat.

I would min raise for value... if he was slowplaying trip queens he will just call. If he was hesitantly playing a par of aces he will just call. If he just hit a pair of 10's he will just call. If he has any other hand (meaning boat) he will probably set you all in, then you fold.

Raising it to 2000 would only be good here again a maniac (one who wouldnt check a boat all the way through) or a very weak call station, and even then its risky.

As pointed out, you never should have called pre-flop. Once the flop comes down, he checks to you. He is either slowplaying a monster or the flop missed him completely (ie KK). You need to bet immediately to figure out which, and ideally take down a nice T405 pot. I'd bet 300 to represent a Q. He'd probably reraise, and you'd fold.

This is bad advice. In NL, it's far more acceptable to cold call raises.

You have an easy fold preflop.
