Does anyone have a recommendation for my first 7 card stud book? I'm looking to learn the game a little better. I need a good beginners book but not too basic. Thanx

I'll second Roy West's book. I lent it out and haven't received it back yet, but I believe the title is something like Low Limit Stud. It was my first poker book, and I would definately recommend it as anyone's first book. Very easy to understand, and gives a very solid base in 7 card stud strategy.

Has anyone done a review of Championship Stud by Dr. Stern and Linda Johnson? I think the book covers stud, stud8 and razz. I cannot find a review.

Mason has a review in the back of "Gambling Theory and Other Topics". I'll just quote some parts:
Rating: 1 and 7
"...some of the material in this book is incredibly inaccurate. Most of the material on razz and seven-card stud eight-or-better is reasonably good, and the same goes for much of the tournament advice. But the exact opposite is true for their advice regarding (standard) seven-card stud. Thus the two different ratings. ..."

I'd go with Winning 7 Card Stud by Ashley Adams. In my opinion best 7 Card Stud for someone wanting to make the transition into playing 7 card stud well.

I'm still a stud novice, but I felt that Chip didn't really share all that much in SS. I got the feeling that he was holding back (unlike Caro's and Brunson's sections).
