Inbetween each so-called 'batch of hands', which is 2 at a time, I'm looking out the window and watching the grass grow, so atleast I'm getting some sort of nonstop action.

you've been watching WPT too long...

virtually all tourney poker is like that...we just don't watch it that way anymore...we speed it up and add hole cards and commercials to pad it out...LOL
