Still new at this seemingly typical 3/6 table. I call UTG with black nines. Folded to CO who calls, button calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif 5/images/graemlins/club.gif 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif

SB bets, BB raises.

Your move?

I would 3-bet.

Well these 3/6 players love to wait until the turn with trips, so lets put the SB on a flush draw or OESD and the BB on an 8, and 3-bet.

I agree with the previous two posters and say three bet.

Turn back the clock one minute and raise UTG preflop like you should have done.

Yeah, what Chess said. I would fold. It may be a little weak tight but this doesnt look like an appealing place to throw chips around.

Out of position
Weak Over pair
Maybe already drawing to two outs
Many turn cards will suck
What do you do on the turn when they all check to you and your in the middle of the field.

Im sure many will say to three bet but these are the reasons I dont here.

100,000% dependent on my reads of the players.

Without a read, I'm probably folding.

I kind of agree with you here, the pot is small, and while I think you're likely ahead now, the fact that you could easily be outdrawn on and its going to take 3 bets to play this hand correctly (your an idiot if you call...its fold or 3 bet) means you're taking in the arse reverse implied odds wise....I fold.

I do want to point out tho, I disagree with your statement that he will be out of posistion. A 3 bet here prolly gives him the privellage of acting last on the other 2 betting rounds and if it doesnt then you are fubar cuz the only way I see someone calling 3 cold here is with a 5

I folded, the turn was a cruel 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, the the river was 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif, they split the pot with 8xo. Clearly, the play here was a 3bet, but I'm still not sure what the default play here should be.
