Poker voice is reporting that some 'unamed' internet poker officials are saying they won't send any players to the WSOP next year because they are not happy with the rules regarding press access and advertising.

Can anybody confirm? or is this just a rumor?

They wont "send"? It's not like they are donating those entries. People pay to play in those satellites and the online sites make money from spreading them.

I hope the western world soon legalizes and keeps an eye in gambling sites, so we can all stop playing at these gangster-owned BS sites that think they can do whatever they want /images/graemlins/mad.gif

RUMOR. Pokervoice deleted this, obviously at the behest of these alleged sources, as this can only be rumor and innuendo at this point.

Well, if they refuse to offer Sats to the WSOP, that would be "not sending" players, now wouldn't it?

Well, that's not true. It certainly can be more than rumor and innuendo at this point. It just probably isn't more than rumor and innuendo.

I hear you. My point being that since the policies for next year's wsop aren't set, it isn't likely that an online site will not be a part of the 2005 wsop simply because of a 2004 policy that may no longer be in effect. That and it sounded like a knee jerk reaction that probabaly needs to be discussed a little further before such a bold move is made.

Yeah. I would be shocked and amazed if sites dropped the WSOP sats next year. There's a ton of money to be made in rake even if they can't make money from the advertising.

That doesn't mean all aren't going to send players. With the popularity of this years event I cannot imagine any poker sites refusing to run sats for the WSOP.
I say rumor.

Yeah, don't believe it. The online casinos are making a ton of money by sending people to the WSOP. While they spread out the events that they send people to and offer fewer WSOP seats, they would be at a major competitive disadvantage to not send people to the WSOP.
