Another wsop bracelet winner is out..Eric Seidel is out in 241st place. Meaning we are getting closer to the money. 15 to go until the money and 27 tables remain.

Looked like Soda was squeezed between two large stacks (Chris Ferguson-$127K and Chuck Agnew $300K) /images/graemlins/frown.gif. I hope he got a chance to double up.

It looks to me like that is just the "name" players. That cannot be the entire list, there is no way it is down to 13 people.

Exactly! ESPN2 shows the tough man comp all day, would you rather watch the WSOP or some juice head pulling a volkswagon with his teeth? My arm is raised for the poker.

The kind of post production that poker coverage requires just makes this impossible. Unless you just do it like the draft where you have no hole cards, and just a lot of talking heads and the occasional cut to a big hand. Don't know if that would get a large audience.

Yes for an edited version like most people are used to seeing. I personally would watch if they had a camera going around to different tables getting interviews of those who busted out, showing table action, updates, chip counts etc...
Only us die hards would be watching but it would still have to draw more people than there regular daily programing.

B Dids
05-25-2004, 11:34 PM
I'm not sure that that's true. Moreover, it would cost a lot more than their current programming does.

I'm not sure why. Hole card cams could feed to insets with the camera just overhead or at a fixed angle. Then just let 'er play. Who needs VVP's inane commentary anyway?

I'm thinking the odds they post- the announces actually knowing somebody about the players in the hand. The stuff that makes the everyman interested in watching it.

Having worked in television for part of my career, the idea of a network showing this live, while fun to think about, is laughable. The logistics required to do something like this would be immense. Maybe it would work for the last few days, but the early round coverage would be impossible to follow.

Let alone the pros who already hate the hole card cams...think how paranoid they'd be in they showed any of this during the actual tournament!
