I just moved up to 5/10 about a week ago and I just had my first 1K day ever! No poker for me anymore today /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Congrats. I haven't had a 4 digit day yet, but I'm anxiously waiting it's arrival.

Remember this day for when you have your first $1000 down tick /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

100 BBs in one day is huge either way it goes, dont ever recall having a +600 3/6 day... /images/graemlins/mad.gif

well, then you are a certified machine.

I know, I've stayed at 3/6 for about 3 or 4 weeks and had a downswing of about 150BB. Don't hope that will happen soon again.

No I find it very easy. About 80% of the hands are a fold so you only have to play about 20%. About 80% of them are auto pilot so 2% of the hands I really have to play think about what the best move is. It's all experience...

Congrats!

I have now had 3 $1000 days at 5/10 /images/graemlins/grin.gif (and one near $1000 losing day /images/graemlins/frown.gif) I play 3 tables at once which seems to be the limit of my good concentration. It's tough to do, but if you have one of those days where you are being hit hard by the deck and playing your "A" game, it is very possible.

Feels great, doesn't it?

Nice man! I havent had anything close to that. My best is probably like 40 BB's in one day, altohugh my worst is probably only around 30 or 35.

Uh, why would you stop?

What do you think? Perhaps it's normal for you that you reach a $1000 each day but when it's your first it's special and I didn't want to wait another few months before I finally got it. I also had already played about 5 to 6 hours so it was enough.

Uh, no, $1000/day is FAR from normal for me. I just play until I have to stop for personal reasons or until the game becomes bad. I don't really pay attention to how much I am + or -. Just the way I do it. To each his own. Nice day, BTW.

That's also the way I play normally but I do keep track of my winnings and when I realized I almost had a $1000 I kept playing until I reached that (after about 15 min) and then I quit.

I often have the same mentality. If I have accumulated that large a win within let's say an hour of a planned long session (at least 3+ hours) I'll keep on playing; however, if I have been playing for 4+ hours, I will strongly consider quitting much of the time because not only have I scored a big win, but the positive feeling that I take with me for the rest of the day is a wonderful thing.

Just saw this thread. Congrats on the great progress. I'll also say that in general I don't think it's a great idea to lengthen or shorten your play based on monetary progress. However, I think it is great and very understandable to lock in a major milestone like this! Looking forward to your first $5k day post!

congrats....and i can happily say 'i know the feeling'.

i had a 1k day last Friday playing 3/6 and it felt pretty damn fine. although...in my case it's pretty easy to win and win and win when you hit virtually EVERY flop (pocket pairs flopping sets, or boats or quads even...etc etc).

especially nice considering that it was just a couple weeks ago that i was still dreaming about my first $1k week.

of course, today i'm down almost 400. yuck.

congrats again.

Thanks for the kind words and I'm looking for that day too but right now I'm in a big downswing of about 120BB. I don't think I play bad though. All part of the game and it will turn around. I only can't remember how it feels to win with AA /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Thanks,

Guido
