This one felt wrong, but I'm tired and not sure why. Standard?

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG raises, MP folds, Button folds, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, UTG caps, Hero calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.

River: (7.50 BB) 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.50 BB

Shouldn't you only make that river bet if you can fold to a raise?

Otherwise, the hand looks ok to me.

I don't 3 bet UTG with 77. I'd fold the river after betting.

Betting for value and folding for a raise isn't part of my gameplan against an unknown opponent. So if you know I'll call the raise, you think checking the river is better? Or maybe playing the whole hand differently?

Thanks for your input on the preflop play. I know I was approaching the "borderline", although I'm not sure where exactly it is. Good to have other winning players thoughts in mind.

Did you have any read on UTG's play?
